Contracted Micro Project for HomeTap
On Boarded as a Digital Product Designer at HomeTap, a Boston based Home Equity Investment Startup. Worked with various stakeholders including the Head of Design, Marketing, Merchandising, Product and Sales to create a digital tool to help users visually understand their own debts. This project enhanced my professional UX critical thinking by solving a problem for HomeTap’s user traffic to their website and used UI thinking to focus on usability of the tool while maximizing the user’s experience. The initial concept was to create a calculator, called Cost Of Debt Calculator, that allows the users to input specific debts that are unique to them. The calculator then configures the numbers and outputs the total amount of debts the user has in a visually comprehensive way. This visually represents the user total debt, while breaking down what specific debts they all within a bar graph to allow the viewer visually break down their digital debts.
Each stage of the Summer 2020 long term project was mapped out starting with the initial concept of the two different calculators, to wireframing in Sketch, to visual execution that included multiple zoom meetings and slack channels of communication between all stakeholders to prototyping in Invision usability testing with diverse individuals from a third party user testing source, to design edits from the user testing feedback, to development prepping in Zeplin and finally to development in which the two calculators are now live on the hometap website.

Studying abroad in Florence, Italy, Lo Roderigues had the unique academic and professional learning opportunity in the Marketing and Communication Office at the Florence University of the Arts. As an intern, she independently completed over 150 hours worth of tasks and projects throughout the semester. Her most comprehensive project was the creation of an 80-page cookbook about Florence Food and Culture. Not only did this experience enhance her skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, but through observing a cooking class and working one-on-one with a publication student, she pushed myself to collaborate with several different copy editors and professors of various departments to ensure successful delivery of the final printed product.
